The purpose of the site is to collect links for grants for secondary education. Please add grants of interest.

General

two categories of grants --

1. Training – Professional Development

2. Programs/Projects – Implementation of New and Continuation of Existing Programs,

Software and/or Other Equipment, Supplies, and Instructional Materials

funds group projects such as study groups, focus groups, or research groups; or provides funding for individual professional development

ongoing deadlines (Feb., June, October)

awards of $2,000 to fund a project to improve teaching and learning or to further an existing project; (3 larger awards)

due April 30

funds from $2,000 to $20,000 to build or enhance an outdoor learning area for k-12 students that particularly enrich science education

Grant funds a community wide read; deadline is April

Technology

students or teachers can submit projects to Taking ItGlobal; prizes include digital cameras, ipods, tools for podcasting, etc.

April deadline

grants of up to $2500 for supplies for classrooms relating to technology; winners receive entry into contest for larger grants

fall deadline

Math/Science

ongoing grants (under $5,000) and larger grants (deadlines twice yearly)

Teachers, mentors, and students(either a class or extracurricular group) collaboratively identify a problem and create an invention to solve it.
